Dear Future PenPal,

Beginning in August of 2020 during the Covid-19 quarantine, I reached out to a local assisted living center looking for a potential penpal. The director soon responded and I began writing letters to Charlie, a retired Architect and former member of the Navy. We've written numerous letters and have discussed a wide array of topics, my favorite being when Charlie reminisces his past travels as a young man in the Navy. From writing the first letter, to each I receive in the mail, I have enjoyed the entire process of getting to know Charlie.

Because of the fulfillment being a PenPal has given me, I wanted to expand the project to others! It is a gratifying and simple way for Seniors to connect with younger generations in a safe way. In addition to being a memorable way for Students to connect with older generations, being a PenPal is a unique way to better the world around you. Enjoy writing and connecting with others, and have fun!

Sincerely,
Nia
